Dear friends,

It is at times like this that I get really mad at past Jordan. I had all of these grand plans and visions to use the time I had this summer for a lot of things. I wanted to get back in shape. I wanted to reinforce my dogs’ training a little bit. I wanted to get a map of the fall schedule worked out all the way through Christmas Eve. Sadly, past Jordan did none of these things, so I’m a little mad at him right now, and now school is upon us!

It is wild how time works. We think we have so much of it and then all of a sudden it is gone. I’ve personally found that when I am much more intentional about my prayer life, there is more time in the day. It is when I get into rush mode of taking care of the busyness of life and I think I don’t have time to sit and journal or meditate, that my time speeds by. It really is quite a phenomenon that has proven true over and again.

It’s about this time of year that I need to remind myself to hold onto the rhythms of prayer. Because everything around me is speeding up with schedules and school and plans coming into focus. If there are going to be enough minutes in the day, then I need to make sure I pray and journal. I need to be intentional about spending time with God or else so much time will fly by. Let's not waste our time, but honor it as a gift from God.

Peace,

Jordan
