Youth Ministries

EHUMC Graduating YouthWelcome to Youth Ministries @ EHUMC! The youth ministry of Embry Hills UMC offers an inclusive ministry of faith, fellowship, and outreach by sharing the love of Christ with everyone. We meet most Sunday nights from 5:30 to 7:30 (all year long!) and are open to all students from 6th grade to 12th grade. The best way to get involved is simply to show up!

Service & Fellowship

Youth Ministries @ EHUMC are both about serving the community as well as growing in fellowship with other youth. We stay busy with service projects (30 Hour Famine, Trick-or-Canning for Snax Sax, UM Children’s Home, Vacation Bible School, StandUp for Kids, MedShare). We enjoy trips together where we focus on our faith and relationship with God (Spiritual Life Retreats @ Camp Glisson, Confirmation Retreats) and also where we focus on being the hearts, hands, and feet of Christ through our summer week-long mission trip (Tennessee, Savannah, New Orleans). Plus we share lots of laughs (parties, special events, game nights, and every time we get together).

Get Involved

We encourage our youth to be active in all aspects of our youth ministry. Through learning, serving and enjoying Christian fellowship with one another, our youth have a strong spiritual foundation upon which to grow. Our ministry is not here to tell you what to believe, but to guide you to build your faith on that foundation to enable you to be your best YOU in all parts of your life–the highs and the lows, the easy or the difficult.

Our youth are always an important part of the EHUMC congregation, whether they (or their families) are members of the church, and participate on a regular basis as worship leaders through sharing music, serving as acolytes, or reading scripture. However, each May, they take over on Youth Sunday as they share their gifts and witness by leading every aspect of the worship services.

Confirmation Class

Confirmation for our youth takes place beginning their 7th grade year (or any year through 12th grade). The months of September through May or June are spent learning about the Bible, Jesus, Sacraments, John Wesley, The United Methodist Church, their individual faith and more. Confirmation Sunday takes place on Pentecost Sunday in May or June at which time the class is confirmed and welcomed as full members of EHUMC.
