During Lent (the season before Easter) and Advent (the season before Christmas), we provide special ministries to help kids understand and experience these special seasons of the Church year. For more information on these events, please call contact the staff.
Cross Over to Easter After School Program – 1pm-2:30pm
Children are invited to participate in Cross Over to Easter After School ministry during Lent. Cross Over invites children to explore the story of Easter in depth. In the weeks before Easter, kids will spend an hour and a half learning the Easter story in fun hands-on ways. They will learn about Jesus’ ministry on Earth and discover what the characters in the Easter story teach us about God.

During Advent children are invited to “Journey: Walking the Road to Bethlehem—for Children” Based on Rev. Adam Hamilton’s bestselling books, this special interactive after-school opportunity invites children to explore the story of Jesus’ birth with fresh eyes and ears. Over the weeks before Christmas, kids are invited to spend an hour and a half to learn about the Christmas story in fun hands on ways. Learning to Use My Bible Class
3rd Graders – Fall Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm
Each year Embry Hills presents Bibles to our 3rd graders and because we don’t want these Bibles to be dust collectors on a bookshelf, we offer a fun and exciting time where children actually learn to use their Bible.
For more tips on teaching your 3rd grade how to use her Bible, read “6 tips for teaching children how to study the Bible” on the United Methodist Communications site.
